  • With Mars and Gemini finally moving direct we can expect the flames under the many pots on our virtual stoves to start cooking. Many people over the past few months have felt frustrated by the stagnant energy of the retrograde Mars. Now with Pluto digging deep to provoke some of the greatest changes seen in our lifetime, we can bravely take the next step toward change in our own lives. Mars in Gemini offers many choices and multiple directions to gain access to what this time frame has to offer.
    The areas that have been standing still for the past few months are gearing up for a swift change in direction. Multiple choices become available where none have been apparent for some time. Many of the choices that did emerge have been filled with conflict or conflicting issues, leaving you with no choice but to not choose. In such cases, no action proved wiser during a Mars retrograde period. Now we are faced with what appears as a new challenge, the Mercury retrograde period that began two days before Mars went direct. It could be more useful than not and actually assist with an opportunity to amend areas that were unclear or need repair before engaging in aggressive actions under Mars' rule in the fractured sign of Gemini. Mars travels into the sign of the Cancer on March 4, 2008. Cancer is a feminine sign where the goals are driven toward safety of the family and security on all levels. It is not until Mars enters Leo on May 9, 2008, will the strongest masculine performance be demonstrated.
    This extremely exciting solar eclipse seeds an era of new beginnings. The 17°44' Aquarius eclipse is the first in a new cycle of eclipses at this zodiac position that will repeat every 19 years, three times. The eclipse is also the head of a stunning Moon Family that contains a lunar eclipse in eighteen months near the same degree. That will add punch to each related Moon phase. The future is not too hard to read by the time this family's First Quarter Moon phase arrives on November 5, 2008, only a day after the US presidential election. It is obvious that the stage is set for a "first" when the Democratic National convention chooses their candidate for president.
    As with any New Moon we are mindful of the dark moon period that begins Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 2:08 p.m. through Friday morning. The next solar eclipse takes place on Wednesday at 10:44 p.m. at 17°Aquarius 44'. Wednesday's solar eclipse will be visible over most of Antarctica and the partial eclipse will be visible throughout New Zealand and Southeastern Australia. The eclipse, focused at the South Pole, will bring our attention to the crisis at our north and south poles.

    Transits: 2008 Good Days
    The good news about Good Day ratings is upon us now approaching January 25, 2008. The Good Days will no longer depend upon a decent aspect to Pluto in Sagittarius. Halfway through the year Pluto will return to Sagittarius, acting as a hungry hound at the end of that sign, requiring you feed him and his litany of demands before tending to your own needs. More than even before, Pluto's appetite for control and attention is like a bottomless pit this last week at the final degree of Sagittarius. Of course this applies when no other planet transits the final degrees of any sign or equal in declination with the Moon.

    The Best Day(s) this week for taking action to forward you endeavors are: Sunday beginning at 4:51 a.m. through Tuesday at 11:49 a.m. Then again on Tuesday a positive time begins after 2:08 p.m. through 3:29 p.m. Thursday; however, this dark moon period is best used for setting intentions and collecting inspiration for new endeavors when more information develops later in the week.

    Moon "Out of Bounds"
    Since the summer of 2001 the Moon has been traveling very high in the sky because its range in declination shoots beyond the 23°27' line at the Tropic of Cancer in the northern sky and beyond the 23°27' Tropic of Capricorn in the southern sky. The Sun reaches its maximum north or south declination at these two boundaries at the summer solstice and winter solstice. When the Moon travels very high into these out of bounds zones it is not only higher in the sky but we seem to have stronger emotional reactions to events during these times. Here I will include the days of the month when the Moon travels out-of-bounds in declination:

    These are the Out of Bounds Moon periods:

    Begins = 31-Jan = 2:05 AM = ends = 8:09 AM = 5-Feb 2008.
    Begins = 13-Feb = 6:27 PM = ends = 8:18 AM = 18-Feb 2008.
    Begins = 27-Feb = 10:13 AM = ends = 5:27 PM = 3-Mar 2008.

    Planet declination information:
    Mars has been out of bounds since October 4, 2007 and will not return until midday April 25, 2008.
    Mars reaches its highest point in declination on January 3, 2008, at +26^58' north, through Jan 10, 2008.

  • Moon/Sun Midpoint Sign Changes
    Try looking at your surrounding circumstances through the view of the Moon and Sun midpoint. This is the point where you meet others halfway or the point of collaboration. It is a marriage point of sorts- or a merging or compromise point. It may help to learn what energy promotes this agreement point between family members, other people or companies. If a planet is adversely situated by a square or an opposition to the midpoint then this indicates difficulty coming to agreements or obstacles in the path.

    These midpoints do not follow an obvious pattern, but there is a pattern. The point will move along in zodiacal order for a while and then pops over to the opposite side of the zodiac after the Moon and Sun oppose at a Full Moon.

    When the Moon/Sun midpoint travels through Fire Signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) people are more adventurous, romantic and open and direct with one another with creative ideas. This Yang or Masculine element embodies the most enthusiasm allowing people to engage in more outgoing activities. This is a dynamic element with an enchanting quality. Expect spontaneity along with the lack of reflection. This can be a to encourage other to let bygones be bygones and live life for today.

    When the Moon/Sun midpoint travels through water signs: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, people's interactions are more private. Activities are conducted on an emotional level or emotional topics that affect the next step based on how things feel. All the water signs have secretive characteristics when dealing with others. Meetings tend to be private and operating with hidden agendas or with the person on the inside when the midpoint travels through water signs. Expect passive/aggressive behavior with Cancer. Invitations are considered an honor and are reserved for those considered as family. When the midpoint travels through Scorpio people join to sort through estates and important financial matters. Sexual agenda becomes more important and pregnancy is more likely. Insults lead to brooding. Psychological slights are easily passed without intention but reap havoc in relationships. This point traveling through Pisces increases sensitivity to others and compassion leads to generosity of spirit. However self pity can be an issue. Joined spiritual endeavors are more enriching.

    The Moon/Sun midpoint traveling through Air Signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). People tend to be more socially available with intellectual exchanges when this point travels through air signs. People react to one another based on what they think and less how they feel. Information and gossip flows easily with the Gemini midpoint. You are more likely to travel in pairs or make a friend while traveling with the midpoint in Gemini. Couples are more open to agreements and compromise when the midpoint is in Libra. Legal matters flow more fairly. Gatherings with friends and meeting in groups can be noted with the midpoint in Aquarius.

    The Moon/Sun midpoint traveling through Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) People interact for practical matters when the Moon/Sun midpoint is in Taurus and Capricorn the goals are aimed at keeping traditions, making or solving money problems and forwarding business. Service and their tasks are the goal with Virgo midpoints. Interactions are less spontaneous and are methodical in earth signs.

    article on Refranations as they are an important astrological event marker.

    New Weekly Feature
    For ease of reading the details of each day, when available or appropriate, follow the daily summary.

    A Day Rating is not intended to describe the feeling of the day or how you will experience that day but offers clues about the end results to your activities if you chose to take a specific action during that Moon sign period.

    A Moon sign period begins when the Moon enters a new sign and remains in effect until it leaves that sign. A Difficult Day can bring unwanted complications for the end result of your objectives. By choosing a Good Day and before the void of course Moon period, you increase you chances for a smoother and more favorable outcome. The day is rated by the last aspect from the Moon to a planet before it leaves the sign. That last aspect begins the void of course Moon period. Your activities are considered to be under the umbrella of the Moon sign that changes every couple of days. Days with the same Moon sign often carry the same day rating for the couple days the Moon occupies that sign.

    There some very important exceptions:
  • When a planet changes signs, the day rating can change.
  • When a planet changes direction, the day rating can change.

  •
    These instances are referred to as a refranation, indicating that you are to expect someone to leave before you complete your objectives or the situation totally changes due to new and unseen developments or reversals.

Aquarius rules mirrors or tape recorders, where reflection and repetitiveness are modes of behavior. Incessant talkers are reported, debating any passing point. ECLIPSE OF SUN (11th Sign) - Feb 6 2008

    MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER TRINE MARS (11th Sign to 3rd Sign) - Feb 7 2008

    MOON ENTERING PISCES (12th Sign) - Feb 7 2008
    The Pisces Moon can be a time of divine inspiration and composition. It is normally a sympathetic and empathetic time. This is a great time to recharge your batteries with some well needed down time. For some they may seek an escape with alcohol or mind-altering substances. You may feel compelled toward activities that support what feels like a mission or become a vehicle for divine intervention. This moon period can hold both gentle and forceful energy. Neptune the god of the sea, rules Pisces can be divinely spiritual or filled with upheaval when enraged. Hurricanes after all are born at sea. Tidal waves, tsunami and monsoons are all ruled by Neptune as are any major rain or snow storm. This can be a sensitive and romantic couple of days. There may be a presence of strong feelings of faith combined with a need to make a spiritual connection. It is normally a sympathetic and empathetic period; people can be overly sensitive and feel victimized. At times when feeling overly frustrated and misunderstood, striking out at others turns the victim into the victimizer as with the wounded puppy syndrome. There may be a strong focus on cosmetic and superficial appearances. Some may experience a Pisces Moon as a "black cloud" or fear that something unfortunate will occur as with 'Murphy's Law". There is a strong spiritual hunger during this time. Emotions range from melancholy to sentimental. This is a very good time for meditation, yoga and prayer and connecting to the universal divine protector. On a mundane level, there may be all sorts of sneaky behavior behind the scenes and misrepresentations. You may become aware of secrets. Clandestine affairs love a Pisces Moon. Elect to work behind the scenes for tasks requiring solitude. Intuition runs high; so trust your gut feelings. Music can be used as a tool to alter moods. Practice meditation, yoga and prayer. Create something poetic and be open to receive inspiration. Help someone -- service and sacrifice is Pisces' middle name and it helps with any tendency toward self pity. Be aware of the lack of boundaries. The weather may be wet or misty. This is a fertile time and productive time in the garden. Planting and cultivating. If a Moon phases occurs while the Moon is in Pisces, people take action on the secrets revealed. The rule of thumb with a Pisces Moon is that you will land in a different place than you expected if you choose this time to initiate your objectives. If you are a Pisces, matters generally tend to go your way.

    MERCURY SEMISQUARE PLUTO (11th Sign to 10th Sign) - Exact Feb 8 2008

This aspect can show stress with friendships, in social or outer affairs. A psychologically stressful time that may set your head spinning in circles as if there is no way out. You must trust someone, somewhere, but you don't know who. There may be pressing money matters requiring your immediate attention such as an overdrawn account or missed payment or other financial oversight.
    For personal use: The way out is straight up. Do all the things you can physically do then take your troubles and drop them off at the doorstep of your higher power. Thank then ask yourself to release your investment of the outcome.
    For business use: Get your accountant or financial advisor on the case.
