  • On Monday, August 20 the First Quarter Moon set a serious tone with Saturn having the final word on some heavy topics. Since July 16, 2005 Saturn has transited the sign of Leo. Now, Saturn is spending its final days in Leo calling the shots from a judgmental and demanding podium, representing the father figure and voice of authority. It should be very interesting over this next two+ weeks while Saturn hovers over the Royal Star of Regulus to see how those in the seats of power handle investigative questions. The Scorpio First Quarter Moon on Monday will bring a highly active day for finances as money can arrive just in time for you to pay your debts. Sunday night's Sun trine Pluto makes ready for these events by approaching those in a position to give their help during this time. The generous spirit of the Sun in Leo encourages Pluto to open his heart and his purse. There are a couple of very powerful aspects this week: Sun conjunct Saturn being one and Mars opposite Jupiter, the other.
Both Mercury and the Sun moved into the sign of Virgo this week. The Sun changes signs on Thursday at 8:08 a.m. until September 23. Virgo's changeable energy is a busy time making ready for the fall and winter without two eclipses in our near future. The Pisces lunar eclipse on August 28 and the Virgo solar eclipse on September 11 is guaranteed to keep things very interesting.

An Extra Note About the Void of Course Moon Currently Related to both "Good Days" and "Tough Days":
The Good Days are a green light for taking action to support positive results for your elected activities. A good day or otherwise difficult day is determined by the last aspect that the Moon makes to the planet at the latest degree of any sign. Another consideration is the Moon's alignment in declination of either parallel or contra parallel. When the Moon forms its final aspect the void of course (v/c) Moon period begins until the Moon enters the next sign. The aspects that bring Good Results are sextile (60°), trine (120°), the parallel and contra-parallel and most conjunctions (0°), if the planet is a friendly and in a sign compatible to the planet. My research of the onset of a v/c Moon period proves to include the difficult 150° quincunx (qnx) aspect and 30° semi-sextile (ssx) which I find to be sometimes favorable. The semi-sextile is somewhat favorable as its increases the value of matters when the Moon is 30° ahead of the planet latest in the sign. When the Moon planet is 30° behind the planet as a last aspect it diminishes into hidden problems and I would rate it as problematic. A 90° square or 180° opposition would negatively impact the Moon sign period and prove to show problems. Even though I would not elect days that contain negatives for anything that requires more attention in the future, I might chose these so called negative aspect days for closing out or wrapping up things that have been difficult to deal with. I have noticed that many medical procedures occur when the Moon is in Pisces and when the Moon's final aspect is square Pluto. This is an example of dealing with a very difficult problem.
From August 18-September 2, 2007 Saturn receives the Moon's final aspect.
Aug 18 is Good Day until 9:52 a.m.
    Aug 23 is Good Day from 8:08 am-8:53 a.m.
Aug 30 is Good period from 12:24 am until Sep 1 at 11:18 a.m.
The remaining days have difficult and problematic issues that emerge. However, by tackling these issues you then become more secure. Saturn is about security. Results can be costly and reports are tough to swallow, as Saturn is demanding his due. After Saturn enters Virgo on September 2nd Pluto resumes his status as the hungry hound at the end of Sagittarius with a litany of demands before tending to your needs. Pluto's appetite for control and attention is like a bottomless pit.

    Moon "Out of Bounds
Since the summer of 2001 the Moon has been traveling very high in the sky because its range in declination shots beyond the 23°27' line at the Tropic of Cancer in the northern sky and beyond the 23°27' Tropic of Capricorn in the southern sky. The Sun reaches its maximum north or south declination at these two boundaries at the summer solstice and winter solstice. When the Moon travels very high into these out of bounds zones it is not only higher in the sky but we seem to have stronger emotional reactions to events during these times. Here I will include the days of the month when the Moon travels out-of-bounds in declination. Times are rounded off to the nearest half hour.
For the Month of July 2007 the Moon travels out-of bounds:
  • June 26 - 8:30 p.m., through July 1st at 10:00 p.m.
  • July 10 - 7:00 a.m. through July 14 - 8:30 p.m.
  • July 24 - 3:30 a.m. through July 29 -8:00 a.m.
  • Not again until August 6 - 11:00 a.m. until
        August 11th, 6:00 a.m.
  • August 20 - 25th
  • September 2 - 7th

    New Weekly Feature
For ease of reading the details of each day, when available or appropriate, follow the daily summary.

A Day Rating is not intended to describe the feeling of the day or how you will experience that day but offers clues about the end results to your activities if you chose to take a specific action during that Moon sign period.

A Moon sign period begins when the Moon enters a new sign and remains in effect until it leaves that sign. A Difficult Day can bring unwanted complications for the end result of your objectives. By choosing a Good Day and before the void of course Moon period, you increase you chances for a smoother and more favorable outcome. The day is rated by the last aspect from the Moon to a planet before it leaves the sign. That last aspect begins the void of course Moon period. Your activities are considered to be under the umbrella of the Moon sign that changes every couple of days. Days with the same Moon sign often carry the same day rating for the couple days the Moon occupies that sign.

    There some very important exceptions:
  • When a planet changes signs, the day rating can change.
  • When a planet changes direction, the day rating can change.

  •
These instances are referred to as a refranation, indicating that you are to expect someone to leave before you complete your objectives or the situation totally changes due to new and unseen developments or reversals.

Dear Weekly Report Readers: While some of you seemed to really enjoy the new color-coded table format for the Report, others did not. We are for this week experimenting by providing the Report in a simplified, narrative form. Please let us know what you think.

       Aspects for the Week

MERCURY CONJUNCT SATURN (5th Sign) - Exact Aug 18 2007
Brief description: Serious thinking leads to commitment and scaling down waste to make room for a more solid structure. The ability to focus on detail. Good for scientific research. Myopic perspective. Matters or events including father and child. Serious letters or contracts. Sober thinking.
For personal use: Eliminate excess. Organize. Clear the way for things of value.
For business use: Create a solid plan.

    MOON ENTERS SCORPIO (8th Sign) - Aug 18 2007
Scorpio Moons direct emotions inward. People tend to react to psychological slights, real or imagined. "Payback" or "getting even" is often a mode of behavior. Threats can be used as a tactic of reaching one's objective. Often there are issues regarding other people's money, loans or insurance claims. Scorpio is a money sign, so there may be checks in the mail. A Scorpio Moon is a powerhouse for resources. This serious Moon surprisingly has a very funny sense of humor and considers sarcasm an art form. Sexuality is on the surface. Power struggles become the mode of the day as many strive for total control over their own interest. Watch out for the inevitable Scorpion Sting, Brooding and ugly behavior is a common mood with a focus on family disputes such as estate settlements. Scorpio Moons are passionate with the object of their attention and at time driven to obsessive behavior often with a need to create drama and a sense of dire urgency around issues. This is a good time to engage in subjects of where your extreme focus is required. Anything less may bring a period of frustration and boredom for Scorpio is a driven sign designed to maintain a high level of intensity. Other Scorpio themes may include information regarding pregnancies, births, deaths and their related estates, insurance and accounting matters. As a rule this Moon is very good for conducting business with loans, mortgages and estates. These days of the Scorpio Moon are not for lightweights. Know your opponent and be extremely well prepared. If you take on a major challenge it would be best to camouflage any sign of weakness. A good sparing partner is sometimes what the big guy or bully is seeking.
When you are opposing assertive experts you are not equally matched. However if you objective is to find someone to represent you that possess these skills, find your gladiator now. The best way to deal with hired guns is to keep in mind that he/she may use their skills against you, so set clear boundaries from the onset of your relationship. Take special care with things worth protecting; not exposing what is precious to unsuitable elements. These days are best used for elimination of waste, reorganizing finances and otherwise digging out from money drains in your business and personal accounts. Retail business often does very well during a Scorpio Moon as purchases tend to be significant. Selfishness and other nasty behaviors push relationships to the limit. On a personal level, taking steps to set you free of tormenting issues with a counselor is a positive use of Scorpio's need to transform. Accept the things you cannot change, change the things you can and be perfectly clear about the difference. A visit to your acupuncturist or massage therapist can assist with deep healing techniques that work best when the Moon is in Scorpio. This is a very good sign for planting, as it is moist and productive especially for vines. Also prune and irrigate during the Scorpio Moon.
The ruling planet for Scorpio is Pluto, now traveling through Sagittarius which is increasing intensity at its final degrees. It is currently at the Galactic Center (26° Sagittarius) which is the point where our Sun is located in our Galaxy, the Milky Way. The Moon, representing our daily needs and behaviors will have to deal with the tough controlling Plutonian characters with nearly all our affairs because Pluto is so late in the sign and the Moon forms its last aspect from most every sign to this heavy dark lord that holds court over, what once was, routine agendas unencumbered by red tape, adjusters, police and loan officers. Pluto at the end of Sagittarius for the next couple of years, carries heavy issues to a higher level or higher understanding - drudging up issues of irresponsibility where the pressure to change has not been greater in over 240 years. If you are a Scorpio, your power planet is transforming your solar second house of money, possessions and talents.

Religion issues may be in the news. Attitudes are more optimistic. The "flow" is more likely to be in your favor. This is a changeable time that allows us to focus and get serious about organizing, going back to school and work. Virgo rules mechanical functions, routines, and diet and health matters. Virgo adds an analytical quality for the task masters. The critical nature is given a platform as perfectionism leads to purification. There is a tendency to worry about details and remain overly focused on health matters.
For personal use: It is a good time to schedule a physical exam with your doctor, begin a new food and exercise plan. Toss out clutter.

Hard-working Capricorn Moons are dead serious about their work. The "rules" command the day. Progress and status are important. Important people that "count" are around, as well as people you can count on. You are your own presentation, and caring about what other people think is often more important. The tone might be something like, "It is not as important to be happy as it is to be correct and successful." Make sure all your ducks are in a row. As a result, the pressure is great to be successful. Criticism runs high during Capricorn Moons and if you have not invited criticism as a constructive asset you could receive a blow to your confidence. This can be a time when people are more sensitive or very thin skinned. Capricorn can often expose matters of low self-esteem and gloomy feelings. There tends to be an emotional coldness during this time. Fathers, bosses, and authority figures are the main characters at the time of the Capricorn Moon. Architecture, big business and corporate structures are the focus. If you are a Capricorn, matters tend to go your way. Plant bushes and trees. Root crops.

    MOON ENTERS AQUARIUS (11th Sign) - Aug 25 2007
Aquarius is an outgoing air sign ruling friendship and groups that join to exchange ideas and share like-minded ideas. With an Aquarius Moon the unusual, brand-new, and bizarre are the order of the day. This is usually a more social time with the unexpected as the norm. Aquarius rules anything very strange or alien in nature. Emotions are more erratic with unpredictable expressions. When independence streak is triggered some people express themselves with alienating behaviors becomes obvious. This is also true with nations, and companies, etc. There is a sense or expectation of change, and for some it may feel like impending doom. For others a strong surge of hope is evident. Aquarius is a fixed sign, indicating that things may not really change but evolve to the level of social consciousness. This may be a good time for revelations and awakenings. Aquarius rules mirrors or tape recorders, where reflection and repetitiveness are modes of behavior. Incessant talkers are reported, debating any passing point. This is the sign of invention and modernization. If you are an Aquarius, matters tend to go your way. Doctor appointments on days with Aquarius Moons can lead to treatments with the most modern techniques and equipment. In the garden it's a good time to eliminate bugs and weeds.
