          on Relationships

  • Stationary Venus is creating the twists and turns this week. Many of us already have experienced the pains of this cosmic event which occurs once every 19 months. Venus last turned retrograde in Virgo eight years ago at 5°Virgo. But a longer range cycle reveals the closest repeat of this 2° Virgo 57' retrograde station on July 26, 1756 at 2° Virgo 50". Venus retrograde patterns repeat in the same order every 251 years. Isn't that interesting? When looking at the chart of the 1756 Venus retrograde station I see several interesting repeated patterns. Being near the same month and day we naturally expect a return of the Sun. A stunning repeat of an exact Uranus position at 18° Pisces catches my eye. We find Pluto in Sagittarius as it is now; and Saturn and Neptune were opposite, as they are now, but reversed by sign. (Saturn was in Aquarius and Neptune in Leo). The Moon's north node appeared in Virgo with the south node in Pisces which is the reverse of their arrangement now. A history lesson is in store with this one.
This Venus, as with each of its stationary periods, makes a statement that includes a spontaneous resolve or dissolve of legal matters, monetary issues and the health and mental stability of our partners and the partnerships as a whole. Expect to be confronted or polarized with matters that effect partners or your finances involving your routine, i.e. health and hygiene, plus work habits and maintenance routines. Consider a new way to organize, downsize and create efficiency which promotes harmony in your environment. Recycling and energy efficiency are also factors. You may find you are repeating the same old problems or buying the same product because of losses or waste. You could be paying expensive service and repair bills. Locate which house this Venus retrograde falls into so as to include the effects of that house's symbolism. (Send me an e-mail requesting your birth chart with your date, time and place of birth and I will be glad to e-mail a copy to you if you don't have one.) Whereas Venus does not retrograde all that often, the impact is most likely to endure.
Look back to 1999 when Venus was retrograde very near this current retrograde period and it can revive contacts with people or the issues from that time. You might enjoy work more while Venus is briefly in Virgo and before returning to Leo on August 8th. You may also find love while doing your work. The caution about love is that one of the parties could be on the rebound or unavailable in another way. Many times Venus retrograde relationships don't fair well. You may feel your partner stray but to work is your rival. As for creative projects the money is lacking. There may be a second chance when Venus returns to Leo from August 8 until October 8th. Ask questions and move very slowly in all money and love matters. Anything you feel is important that you have the power to arrange is best left until Venus turns direct in September.

2007 Good Days: The good days this year are hinged upon a decent aspect to Pluto in Sagittarius. Pluto gets the last word acting as a hungry hound at the end of that sign, requiring you to feed him and tend to his litany of demands before tending to your own needs. Pluto's appetite for control and attention are like a bottomless pit. When other planets are very late in a sign then their symbolism has the last word as the Moon forms its last aspect before leaving a sign. This boreal summer Saturn becomes the latest planet for about two months from August 6-September 2. For the most part, until Pluto leaves Sagittarius next year, I do like a few Moon signs when all tihngs are considered. For the better part of the year an Aries, Libra, Leo or Aquarius Moon is making the best aspect to Pluto. When that is the case, there is a better chance of positive results for your efforts. However, this week's Libra Moon forms its last aspect to the Cancer Sun at the First Quarter Moon. This causes difficulty between partners and family matters are a challenge. All is not lost because you are likely to push forward and accomplish much in both of these areas. This week the Scorpio Moon and Sagittarius Moon are fair with many matters involving the principals of Pluto in a somewhat supportive fashion. Be prepared to pay the price especially when applying for loans. Expect otherwise to be dealing with difficult matters. What can I say - it's a struggle at best. Pluto is not an easy player.

    Moon "Out of Bounds"
Since the summer of 2001 the Moon has been traveling very high in the sky because its range in declination shots beyond the 23°27' line at the Tropic of Cancer in the northern sky and beyond the 23°27' Tropic of Capricorn in the southern sky. The Sun reaches its maximum north or south declination at these two boundaries at the summer solstice and winter solstice. When the Moon travels very high into these out of bounds zones it is not only higher in the sky but we seem to have stronger emotional reactions to events during these times. Here I will include the days of the month when the Moon travels out-of-bounds in declination. Times are rounded off to the nearest half hour.
For the Month of July 2007 the Moon travels out-of bounds:
  • June 26 - 8:30 p.m., through July 1st at 10:00 p.m.
  • July 10 - 7:00 a.m. through July 14 - 8:30 p.m.
  • July 24 - 3:30 a.m. through July 29 -8:00 a.m.
  • Not again until August 6 - 11:00 a.m. until
        August 11th, 6:00 a.m.

  • Take a break from the chaos and visit
    Peace Village.

article on Refranations as they are an important astrological event marker.

    New Weekly Feature
For ease of reading the details of each day, when available or appropriate, follow the daily summary.

A Day Rating is not intended to describe the feeling of the day or how you will experience that day but offers clues about the end results to your activities if you chose to take a specific action during that Moon sign period.

A Moon sign period begins when the Moon enters a new sign and remains in effect until it leaves that sign. A Difficult Day can bring unwanted complications for the end result of your objectives. By choosing a Good Day and before the void of course Moon period, you increase you chances for a smoother and more favorable outcome. The day is rated by the last aspect from the Moon to a planet before it leaves the sign. That last aspect begins the void of course Moon period. Your activities are considered to be under the umbrella of the Moon sign that changes every couple of days. Days with the same Moon sign often carry the same day rating for the couple days the Moon occupies that sign.

    There some very important exceptions:
  • When a planet changes signs, the day rating can change.
  • When a planet changes direction, the day rating can change.

  •
These instances are referred to as a refranation, indicating that you are to expect someone to leave before you complete your objectives or the situation totally changes due to new and unseen developments or reversals.

       Aspects for the Week

MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER SQUARE SUN (7th Sign to 4th Sign) - Jul 22 2007

    MOON ENTERS SCORPIO (8th Sign) - Jul 22 2007
Scorpio Moons direct emotions inward. People tend to react to psychological slights, real or imagined. "Payback" or "getting even" is often a mode of behavior. Threats can be used as a tactic of reaching one's objective. Often there are issues regarding other people's money, loans or insurance claims. Scorpio is a money sign, so there may be checks in the mail. A Scorpio Moon is a powerhouse for resources. This serious Moon surprisingly has a very funny sense of humor and considers sarcasm an art form. Sexuality is on the surface. Power struggles become the mode of the day as many strive for total control over their own interest. Watch out for the inevitable Scorpion Sting, Brooding and ugly behavior is a common mood with a focus on family disputes such as estate settlements. Scorpio Moons are passionate with the object of their attention and at time driven to obsessive behavior often with a need to create drama and a sense of dire urgency around issues. This is a good time to engage in subjects of where your extreme focus is required. Anything less may bring a period of frustration and boredom for Scorpio is a driven sign designed to maintain a high level of intensity. Other Scorpio themes may include information regarding pregnancies, births, deaths and their related estates, insurance and accounting matters. As a rule this Moon is very good for conducting business with loans, mortgages and estates. These days of the Scorpio Moon are not for lightweights. Know your opponent and be extremely well prepared. If you take on a major challenge it would be best to camouflage any sign of weakness. A good sparing partner is sometimes what the big guy or bully is seeking.

When you are opposing assertive experts you are not equally matched. However if you objective is to find someone to represent you that possess these skills, find your gladiator now. The best way to deal with hired guns is to keep in mind that he/she may use their skills against you, so set clear boundaries from the onset of your relationship. Take special care with things worth protecting; not exposing what is precious to unsuitable elements. These days are best used for elimination of waste, reorganizing finances and otherwise digging out from money drains in your business and personal accounts. Retail business often does very well during a Scorpio Moon as purchases tend to be significant. Selfishness and other nasty behaviors push relationships to the limit. On a personal level, taking steps to set you free of tormenting issues with a counselor is a positive use of Scorpio's need to transform. Accept the things you cannot change, change the things you can and be perfectly clear about the difference. A visit to your acupuncturist or massage therapist can assist with deep healing techniques that work best when the Moon is in Scorpio. This is a very good sign for planting, as it is moist and productive especially for vines. Also prune and irrigate during the Scorpio Moon.

The ruling planet for Scorpio is Pluto, now traveling through Sagittarius which is increasing intensity at its final degrees. It is currently at the Galactic Center (26° Sagittarius) which is the point where our Sun is located in our Galaxy, the Milky Way. The Moon, representing our daily needs and behaviors will have to deal with the tough controlling Plutonian characters with nearly all our affairs because Pluto is so late in the sign and the Moon forms its last aspect from most every sign to this heavy dark lord that holds court over, what once was, routine agendas unencumbered by red tape, adjusters, police and loan officers. Pluto at the end of Sagittarius for the next couple of years, carries heavy issues to a higher level or higher understanding--drudging up issues of irresponsibility where the pressure to change has not been greater
in over 240 years. If you are a Scorpio, your power planet is transforming your solar second house of money, possessions and talents.

MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER CONJUNCTION PLUTO (9th Sign) - Jul 26 2007

    MOON ENTERS CAPRICORN (10th Sign) - Jul 27 2007
Hard-working Capricorn Moons are dead-serious about their work. The "rules" command the day. Progress and status are important. Important people that "count" are around, as well as people you can count on. You are your own presentation, and caring about what other people think is often more important. The tone might be something like, "It is not as important to be happy as it is to be correct and successful." Make sure all your ducks are in a row. As a result, the pressure is great to be successful. Criticism runs high during Capricorn Moons and if you have not invited criticism as a constructive asset you could receive a blow to your confidence. This can be a time when people are more sensitive or very thin skinned. Capricorn can often expose matters of low self-esteem and gloomy feelings. There tends to be an emotional coldness during this time. Fathers, bosses, and authority figures are the main characters at the time of the Capricorn Moon. Architecture, big business and corporate structures are the focus. If you are a Capricorn, matters tend to go your way. Plant bushes and trees. Root crops.
