For others it has been very difficult and filled with what I identify as Saturn and Neptune complaints. There are frustrations and we are faced with our weakest link. It is a time when your work is not working or your body is calling out for its special needs. Relationships are difficult to manage at best, and for many I hear the divorce word being used to try and curb another's behavior. As we experience the blocked and frustrating qualities of this year's Saturn and Neptune opposition we attempt to position ourselves in a better light. Shakespeare said: "The web of our life is a mingled yarn, good and ill together". This is the perfect script for the struggles set upon us at this time when Saturn, the planet that rules the structure in our lives is opposed by Neptune, a planet comfortable with wasting it away. It is a time when nothing seems to be working and we stretch our fabrics to maintain our foundations and hope our ship is not sinking. There are those on the receiving end of your efforts more content to simply walk away and leave you to pick up the pieces. This week all the cards will be on the table and Friday's Leo Full Moon brings a high energy week filled with a list of consequences - for good or ill. Consequences are under the rule of Saturn. Saturn is retrograde, in a sign causing its detriment and in the grip of a further weakening while in opposition to Neptune. Not until February 28th is the opposition exact but this week a contra parallel between Saturn and Neptune exposes this aspect early. We see it in the news with the US president. He proposes a troop increase and is met with severe opposition from both parties when he suffers the lowest approval rating of all presidents. Not so unlike those in charge in our homes, offices, etc. who are also met with extraordinary obstacles. Not even Hollywood stars are getting off the hook for messing up. Every blunder and unfortunate action is broadcast by the media who seems to be running our lives. By the time the Full Moon rises at the end of the week our work will be clearly cut out. The last time this pair formed an opposition was in 1971-72. Richard Nixon was about to suffer Watergate. Then in 2001 Saturn and Neptune formed a contra parallel aspect like the one we'll have on Thursday. Looking back - it was G.W. Bush's first few months a president. His actions then may be further revealed now, as to what his actual agenda was for his America. Mercury is the messenger of the Gods, tells a story at the important astrological points along his travels. It is time to prepare for his February 13th retrograde period. By listening closely to what we see, hear and say when Mercury enters Pisces this Friday, February 2nd, we may gain some insights to the message from this messenger. February 2nd is the day of the Full Moon in Leo. Leo rules matters of the heart and of kings. Decisions to implement changes are churning behind closed doors all around the world. Mercury crosses a sensitive point on January 29th. It is the point where it will finally turn direct after its retrograde trek on February 13, 2007. It is not until March 7th when Mercury turns direct. There is a re-emphasis of the divorcing influence with the up-and-coming Mercury positions. With all this threatening the stability of our partnerships there remains the Jupiter and Uranus square (90°) that presents the drive to reinvent ourselves. Try as you may to keep things the same, the need is stronger to break out of old molds. What will you do? This week is shy on Good Days. You are better to keep your nose to the grindstone with no new activity. Gather facts and watch what others do. Use the deadline energy of the Full Moon to finish something up that has been lingering. The pressure is on to employ for a specific task. This is probably Bush moving forward with his troop increase. The February 2nd Moon-Saturn occultation on the same day indicates a heavy cost to be paid by February 10th. Avoid manipulation as it comes back to haunt you. Take a break from the chaos and visit Peace Village. ^top
