  • Today, Saturday, January 6, 2007, the Earth, Moon and Saturn line up for an occultation in Leo at 1:57 p.m., adding a serious edge to this creative sign. The executive side could battle with play time or work time. The Moon and Saturn have an interesting similar cycle; the Moon cycles around the zodiac in 29 days and Saturn in 29 years. They both are timekeepers. They also form a pattern that repeats every four years in solar return charts. On occasion they break out of that pattern and something interesting in the individual's life will explain what happened. Beginning December 2006 the Moon and Saturn meet for an occultation every month through July 2007, but not in August. It takes place again in September and October after Saturn has moved into Virgo. These moon-Saturn occultations appeared in 1998 when US President Bill Clinton faced impeachment proceedings. It will be something to watch as the year develops.
Thursday, January 11's Last Quarter Moon in Libra delivers a greater punch as it is tied to an eclipse from October, 2004. To make things really interesting Jupiter and Uranus are practically square (90°) and hold that pattern until the aspect is exact on January 22. This week it's the two powerful aspects involving Mars, Saturn and Pluto that I find most interesting. It's a week to take action.
If you are on a mission to take a tiger by the tail, you have the help of Mars racing through the sign of Sagittarius with a clear agenda to reach the power monger, Pluto, at the end of the sign, with enough ammunition to mow down closed doors. With Pluto nearing the end of Sagittarius every major event involves paying this gate keeper his dues over this next year.
First, Mars will gain the approval from a retiring advisor, Saturn, who's best is at a disadvantage. The disadvantage is due to Saturn in Leo. This is opposite one of his home signs, Aquarius, placing him in detriment; and, to top that off, he is retrograde! It's as if Saturn, the savvy retired general, is leading with his hands tied behind his back. Interestingly, this is also the perfect astrological arrangement to describe the gruesome lynch-style hanging of Saddam Hussein on December 30, 2006. The chart for Abraham Lincoln's 1861 inauguration contained this configuration of Mars conjunct (0°) Pluto and trine (120°) Saturn.
This powerful combination allows a new design to emerge from the tool box of the new Democratic US Congress with Nancy Pelosi (an Aries with a Moon in Scorpio) as House Speaker. Hilary Rodham Clinton (a Scorpio) has Mars, Saturn and Pluto all conjunct in Leo. With the Democrats leading Congress in 2007 they will rise to the task and deliver strong leaders with experience.
On Monday January 8, Mars is trine (120°) Saturn. One of the keys to his mission requires the voice of experience to rubber-stamp his plan to strengthen and fortify his agenda by the time he reaches Pluto -which is needed to fund the project. Mars is conjunct (0°) Pluto January 13th. Mars is the igniting force that activates and advances. When joined with Pluto he has a steamroller effect. Mars and Pluto combinations offer unlimited resources and stamina. These three heavy players, Mars, Saturn and Pluto, are all in fire signs fueling the big creative ideas. When Mars outlines the plan at Monday's trine aspect, the Sun and Moon are also at an exact trine. This allows for a free flow of important life changing activity that leaves room for a creative resolve to major problems. Matters move toward cooperation and partnerships with strategically matched individuals involving well-seasoned specialists to gain the desired results. Turning heads around from an unpopular plan to one that can charge full speed ahead is exactly what Mars has taken on this week. It is the perfect picture for Bush to present his escalated attempt to win his loosing battles in Iraq.
If you are attempting a major shift that includes opening locked doors and reaching the inner sanctorum then this is your week. Next week Mars moves into Capricorn which is the sign of his exaltation of which he stands on solid ground. The plans laid this week fight with the enthusiasm associated with pie-in-the-sky ideas associated with Sagittarius. However, Saturn's involvement makes it real with the intention to deliver results, yet there are compromising conditions. One key to success is to have Mars and Saturn in agreement for any plan involving a step-by-step strategy.

    New Weekly Feature
For ease of reading the details of each day, when available or appropriate, follow the daily summary.

A Day Rating is not intended to describe the feeling of the day or how you will experience that day but offers clues about the end results to your activities if you chose to take a specific action during that Moon sign period.

A Moon sign period begins when the Moon enters a new sign and remains in effect until it leaves that sign. A Difficult Day can bring unwanted complications for the end result of your objectives. By choosing a Good Day and before the void of course Moon period, you increase you chances for a smoother and more favorable outcome. The day is rated by the last aspect from the Moon to a planet before it leaves the sign. That last aspect begins the void of course Moon period. Your activities are considered to be under the umbrella of the Moon sign that changes every couple of days. Days with the same Moon sign often carry the same day rating for the couple days the Moon occupies that sign.

    There some very important exceptions:
  • When a planet changes signs, the day rating can change.
  • When a planet changes direction, the day rating can change.

  •
These instances are referred to as a refranation, indicating that you are to expect someone to leave before you complete your objectives or the situation totally changes due to new and unseen developments or reversals.

People become more detail-oriented and conscious of schedules. There may be a need to prioritize and set a daily routine in motion. MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER SEXTILE PLUTO - Jan 11 2007

    Friday
    MOON ENTERING SCORPIO
    - Jan 12 2007
Scorpio Moons direct emotions inward. People tend to react to psychological slights, real or imagined. "Payback" or "getting even" is often a mode of behavior. Threats can be used as a tactic of reaching one's objective. Often there are issues regarding other people's money, loans or insurance claims. Scorpio is a money sign, so there may be checks in the mail. A Scorpio Moon is a powerhouse for resources. This serious Moon surprisingly has a very funny sense of humor and considers sarcasm an art form. Sexuality is on the surface. Power struggles become the mode of the day as many strive for total control over their own interest. Watch out for the inevitable Scorpion Sting, Brooding and ugly behavior is a common mood with a focus on family disputes such as estate settlements. Scorpio Moons are passionate with the object of their attention and at time driven to obsessive behavior often with a need to create drama and a sense of dire urgency around issues. This is a good time to engage in subjects of where your extreme focus is required. Anything less may bring a period of frustration and boredom for Scorpio is a driven sign designed to maintain a high level of intensity. Other Scorpio themes may include information regarding pregnancies, births, deaths and their related estates, insurance and accounting matters. As a rule this Moon is very good for conducting business with loans, mortgages and estates. These days of the Scorpio Moon are not for lightweights. Know your opponent and be extremely well prepared. If you take on a major challenge it would be best to camouflage any sign of weakness. A good sparing partner is sometimes what the big guy or bully is seeking.

When you are opposing assertive experts you are not equally matched. However if you objective is to find someone to represent you that possess these skills, find your gladiator now. The best way to deal with hired guns is to keep in mind that he/she may use their skills against you, so set clear boundaries from the onset of your relationship. Take special care with things worth protecting; not exposing what is precious to unsuitable elements. These days are best used for elimination of waste, reorganizing finances and otherwise digging out from money drains in your business and personal accounts. Retail business often does very well during a Scorpio Moon as purchases tend to be significant. Selfishness and other nasty behaviors push relationships to the limit. On a personal level, taking steps to set you free of tormenting issues with a counselor is a positive use of Scorpio's need to transform. Accept the things you cannot change, change the things you can and be perfectly clear about the difference. A visit to your acupuncturist or massage therapist can assist with deep healing techniques that work best when the Moon is in Scorpio. This is a very good sign for planting, as it is moist and productive especially for vines. Also prune and irrigate during the Scorpio Moon.

The ruling planet for Scorpio is Pluto, now traveling through Sagittarius which is increasing intensity at its final degrees. It is currently at the Galactic Center (26° Sagittarius) which is the point where our Sun is located in our Galaxy, the Milky Way. The Moon, representing our daily needs and behaviors will have to deal with the tough controlling Plutonian characters with nearly all our affairs because Pluto is so late in the sign and the Moon forms its last aspect from most every sign to this heavy dark lord that holds court over, what once was, routine agendas unencumbered by red tape, adjusters, police and loan officers. Pluto at the end of Sagittarius for the next couple of years, carries heavy issues to a higher level or higher understanding--drudging up issues of irresponsibility where the
pressure to change has not been greater in over 240 years. If you are a Scorpio, your power planet is transforming your solar second house of money, possessions and talents.

VENUS SEXTILE JUPITER - Exact Jan 12 2007
Brief description: An opportunity to expand your social circle and become involved in a project that leads to fulfillment and pleasant surroundings. Travel for pleasure is a possibility. Good food and lavish surroundings. Signs of appreciation and love.
For personal use: Surround yourself with loving people and enjoy the day.
For business use: Financial opportunities are options with those you are familiar and comfortable.

MERCURY SEMISQUARE JUPITER - Exact Jan 12 2007
Brief description: The may be an abundance of information outlining problems that are difficult to access or resolve. Health issues take precedence and other pressing matters build up. An overload causes breakdowns. Travel may be complicated. Outreach and advertising projects could use rewriting. The position may show information pointing to problems that are difficult to access with creative pursuits, children, speculation or gambling. Information seems out range or has an irresponsible tone or message. Those claiming to "know it all" may run into conflicts. Statements may be over-inflated.
For personal use: Create a priority list.
For business use: Outreach and advertising projects could use rewriting.
