Some may remember the onset of the current 20-year Jupiter and Saturn cycle that began at 22° Taurus in May, 2000 - an important marker for the current scenarios on many fronts. The US presidential election was taking form. Our commitments and agendas over the following years became more expensive as time proved that choices based on money alone would lose value. Leaders failed to produce or robbed the essence from the promise. Now we are approaching the third installment of a square (90°) between Jupiter and Saturn, but not this week. Later this month the Jupiter and Saturn hard angle marks not only the need to release the rope of out-worn commitments but the exit sign over the door. There is a mix of frustration and hope for the tired and over-worked collecting pittance for pay, who are actively seeking ways to cut the anchor without causing new karma. This weekend the Taurus Moon forms a square to Saturn in Leo and draws a line across the zodiac to Jupiter in Scorpio. It appears to set off this final stage of the Jupiter Saturn square a couple of weeks early and appropriately represents political parties in the US. A benefic, broad-minded Jupiter is said to rule the liberal parties and the conservative interests of big business is represented by Saturn. The current poor condition of the conservative party can be described by Saturn in a compromised position, giving it low marks for zodiacal placement, while Jupiter is in better standing. Saturn is disfavored in Leo because it is opposite its home sign, Aquarius, and is washed out by Neptune in Aquarius. (Capricorn is Saturn's other home sign). The watery Neptune's dissolving quality weakens the already feeble position of Saturn's concrete nature and he is in over his head with no way out but to write his own epitaph. Credibility is one of Saturn's attributes that has temporarily disappeared. Leo is the ruler of administration, discipline and exercise of authority. Beyond that, Leo rules children, play and joy. Saturn places a damper on the Leo qualities. Saturn represents heads-of-state, public administration and the building upon experience. In Leo, this badly aspected Saturn has the capacity to bring the royals to their knees. Jupiter is in a better position as, being ruler of Sagittarius and Pisces, he has a familiar quality in water. Any negativity due to his square to Neptune is in the past and better yet headed for his own best location - his home in Sagittarius on November 25, 2006. In Mythological lore, Jupiter always wins out over his father, Saturn. So what is holding up the money? Jupiter can not expand until it is released from its square to Saturn on October 25, 2006. As the oil prices come down and hold throughout the winter we can feel a sense of relief. As the US government gets back on the track of being in the business of "the people" we can feel a sense of future. For now there is hope. I see us turning a corner soon. As for the correlation to this weekend or later next week, you may feel compelled to take on a new commitment, make a major purchase or enter into something that requires long-term relationship. Take the opportunity to get rid of dead weight. After the end of October it looks better for major purchases. Taking on new jobs is better suited after that time as well. A note about the asteroid Ceres that turned direct this past week on October 2nd Ceres was the primary astrological activity last Monday. Ceres brings intense focus on children. Two top stories qualify under Ceres domain: the sad loss of 6 girls of the Amish community and the lack of protection for the White House pages as the GOP choose to protect their jobs at all costs.
